A single woman is a woman who wishes for a child and decides to pursue her dream alone, using fertility treatments and donated sperm. At Ovumia, you are warmly welcome — we support you at every step on your way to motherhood. You do not need a referral or previous tests, simply booking an initial appointment with a doctor is enough.
When you want to have a child on your own with fertility treatment, you will need donated gametes. Before starting a planned donor-gamete treatment, you will meet with our psychologist to discuss the legal, ethical, and psychological aspects.
The recommended minimum age to begin treatment is 23, but at Ovumia, the doctor always makes the final decision case by case. We treat single women up to the age of 50.

Because all treatments use donated gametes, they are classified as donor-gamete treatments. Everyone undergoing donor-gamete treatment attends a counseling session before starting, where the psychological, legal, and ethical aspects are discussed.
At Ovumia, anonymous germ cell donors are mentally and physically healthy men and women with healthy lifestyles, aged 20–35 for women and 18–40 for men.
Donors undergo thorough preliminary screening for infectious and hereditary diseases. Egg donors provide new samples before every donation. Sperm donor samples are tested before freezing and again after a six-month storage period. When using donor eggs, it is important to be aware that the eggs are not kept in quarantine for six months; instead, the donor undergoes the aforementioned testing immediately before the start of the preparatory treatment.
