Ovulation is one of the key factors for a successful pregnancy. If an egg does not mature or release naturally, this process can be supported with medical treatment known as ovulation induction or follicular stimulation. The goal of ovulation induction is to help the egg mature and ovulate so that fertilization can occur naturally, either through intercourse or insemination.

Artificial insemination is one of the most common and gentlest methods of fertility treatment. During the procedure, sperm is guided directly into the uterus using a thin catheter at the time of ovulation. Fertilization occurs naturally within the woman's body.
