Artificial insemination is a basic assisted reproduction technique that involves inserting a semen sample into the woman's uterus after monitoring the ovulatory cycle. This sample is pre-prepared in the laboratory to optimize its quality.
At our center, all inseminations are performed intrauterinely, with the introduction of a fine cannula through which the sperm are deposited deep into the uterus. Within a few minutes, they will have reached the fallopian tubes, where the egg is waiting. It is not uncomfortable, lasts a few minutes, and requires no rest afterward.
Insemination can be performed with the partner's semen or using donor sperm, if necessary.
