Mari Sälevaara completed her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Tampere in 2002 and has been working as a fertility specialist ever since. She is preparing a Ph.D. thesis on the follow-up of families with a prior egg donation treatment. She has been working in Ovumia since November 2017.
