During the fallopian tube patency test, the patency of a woman’s fallopian tubes is assessed using a special contrast agent under ultrasound guidance. The test is performed during the first phase of the menstrual cycle.
The fallopian tube patency test is performed by a gynecologist on an outpatient basis without surgical intervention. The test is performed during a visit with a fertility specialist. The test, including preparation, takes 15–20 minutes. During the test, you may experience mild discomfort and slight pain.

The uterine lining is ready for embryo implantation for only a short time—6 to 8 days after ovulation. This period is called the implantation window. The test makes it possible to determine your personal implantation window and thereby increase the success of embryo transfer. The test also analyzes the expression levels of genes involved in the process of uterine lining receptivity.
The test is intended for women who have experienced repeated failed embryo transfers, either with embryos of good morphological quality or for reasons that are unclear despite the fact that the endometrial lining appears to be of normal thickness.
To perform the test, the gynecologist takes a tissue sample from the endometrium using a thin catheter during an outpatient visit. You may experience mild discomfort and pain during the procedure. We recommend taking oral pain medication (paracetamol, ibuprofen) before the procedure.
If the uterine lining is ready to receive an embryo on the day the tissue sample is taken, this is the implantation window, and the embryo should be transferred on the same day of the next menstrual cycle as the tissue sampling.
