In the statistics, we distinguish between three different levels:
Starting fertility treatment often brings both hope and questions – and one of the most important concerns is the chance of actually having a child. Here, we summarize our results in a clear and transparent way, so that you understand both what the numbers mean and how they can help you and your doctor plan the right treatment.
When we follow our patients throughout the entire treatment process – including any repeated IVF cycles, transfers of frozen embryos, and, when necessary, treatment with donated gametes – approximately 80–85% of our patients have children.
This is because fertility care is almost always a process, not a single attempt.
The results per individual treatment cycle are significantly lower – and these are the figures shown in the graphs below.
In the statistics, we distinguish between three different levels:
Under 35 years: approximately 68%
This shows something important: 👉 The age of the egg is the factor that has the greatest impact on results.
The number of embryos that develop in a cycle depends primarily on egg quality. The table below shows how the number of embryos varies with age – and when using donated eggs.
Table: Number of embryos per treatment cycle
An IVF cycle means that:
Each embryo transfer is a new chance of pregnancy, and a cycle is considered complete only when all embryos have been transferred.
A single cycle is only part of the treatment. When taking into account:
… the overall chance increases significantly.
That is why 80–85% of our patients have children over time.
Statistics can provide clarity – but every situation is unique.
